2015 PA Primary Superior Court Democratic Candidates

-Answered the League of women voters’ questions, and said that Article 1, section 27, plainly creates a trust protecting the environment for the benefit of future Pennsylvanian’s (that’s his interpretation of the law)
-Has refused all contributions to his campaign for the 2015 primary, is covering incidentals himself. Believes this is an important step in keeping big money out of elections.
-Believes every judge should resolve each case with fairness and common sense and to treat every person before the court with respect and simple human decency.

-Has worked pro bono for indigent persons through VIP, and after becoming a judge was recruited as a board member for VIP
Issues:
-Said that the ethics code wouldn’t allow her to answer the league of women voters’ questions.
-As judge for the court of common pleas she has seen cases involving: abused and neglected children, malpractice, personal injury and criminal trials
-Has a keen understanding for the effects that trauma causes to children, the biological attachment that children have to their parents, and the impact of drug addiction and mental health issues on families.
-In criminal cases she likes to look at a person’s prior criminal history (or lack thereof) to guide her in their sentencing
